Operationalizing Key Updates in Your Practice

The CMS 2026 Final Rule introduces consequential updates — modifying reimbursement methodologies, documentation and coding expectations, quality program performance, and compliance obligations. As medical practices continue to face increasing regulatory pressure and shrinking margins; practice leaders must translate complex policy changes into actionable operational strategy.

In this session, Kem Tolliver, FACMPE, CPC, CMOM—author, educator, and nationally recognized healthcare revenue cycle thought leader—breaks down the multifaceted elements of the 2026 Final Rule with practical clarity. Attendees will learn how the CMS 2026 Final Rule impacts payment rates, value-based care requirements, telehealth permanency, supervision policies, cost measures, and the downstream effects on workflow, staffing, and technology investments.

This presentation goes beyond summarizing regulatory text. It equips practice leaders with the tactical insights needed to forecast financial impact, redesign workflows for compliance, strengthen documentation and coding precision, and position their organizations for sustainable success under evolving CMS conditions.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify and interpret the key provisions within the CMS 2026 Final Rule affecting physician reimbursement, telehealth coverage, documentation standards, and quality program participation.

  2. Evaluate the financial implications of the Final Rule - including RVU adjustments, payment rate changes, cost measure updates, and their impact on budgeting, forecasting, and revenue cycle performance.

  3. Align internal coding, documentation, and operational work-flows with the new CMS requirements, ensuring compliant claim submission, accurate quality data reporting, and audit-ready documentation.

  4. Develop a strategic implementation roadmap that empowers practice managers, billing teams, coding leaders to educate staff, update policies, enhance technology utilization, and mitigate financial and compliance risks associated with the 2026 changes.
